De wijnen worden gemaakt van druiven uit volledig biologisch gecertificeerde wijngaarden die men gekozen heeft op basis van hun unieke terroir. Geen synthetische pesticiden of kunstmest, maar veel aandacht voor de wijnaard. Het levert niet alleen een schonere footprint op, het geeft de wijnen ook een zuivere, ongeknutselde smaak.

De granietrijke hellingen en koele luchtstromen van de Kaapse kust zorgen voor een langzame rijping en knapperige zuren. Dat proef je: de wijnen voelen energiek en verfrissend, met een rijpe, zonnige kern, heldere fruitaroma's en veel doordrinkbaarheid. Van knisperende Chenin Blanc tot elegante rode cuvées: dit is verantwoord genieten met een moderne Kaapse signatuur.

Sophie Germanier’s journey in wine began in her childhood, inspired by her father, a winemaker and businessman in Switzerland. His passion for wine was contagious, motivating her to follow in his footsteps. After earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Management in the UK, Sophie moved to South Africa in 2014 to take over the family business. She immersed herself in every facet of the wine industry, from organic farming to international exports, and developed a profound commitment to environmental sustainability.

Sophie believes that organic practices are essential to the future of winemaking, both for the health of the land and the longevity of the industry. 

In 2020, Sophie launched her own brand, Organic Wine by Sophie Germanier, with the goal of inspiring consumers to choose wines that prioritize the environment and society. Through her organic, sustainable wines, Sophie aims to demonstrate that quality and consciousness can go hand in hand, and to encourage a shift toward more responsible choices in the wine industry.

With every bottle, Sophie is not only creating exceptional wine but also championing a vision of sustainability—one that is mindful of both the land and the people who nurture it.

For Sophie Germanier, sustainability is at the core of everything we do. All of our wines are certified organic in both Europe and the United States, meaning no pesticides, herbicides, or synthetic fertilizers are used in growing our grapes. In the cellar, we minimize sulfite use to maintain a pure and natural product. We’re also embracing regenerative practices in our vineyards, working closely with our farming partners to restore and maintain soil health, ensuring long-term sustainability.

Reducing our carbon footprint is another priority. We use lightweight bottles to help lower emissions during transportation, reflecting our commitment to environmental responsibility at every stage of production. All of our wines proudly bear the IPW (Integrated Production of Wine) seal, which is a mark of our dedication to responsible farming and environmental stewardship. These practices help us create a thriving ecosystem and preserve the land for generations to come.

Biodiversity
