In het glas donker gekleurd met rijke aroma's van zwart fruit, kruidige tonen en verfijnd wat "getoast"hout.
De smaak kent een (donker) fruitige aanzet, is rijk en krachtig met mooi versmolten zuren en tannines en een lange afdronk met wederom het zwarte fruit, tonen van hout en een bepaalde frisheid.
De wijn heeft een jaar gerijpt in Frans eiken barriques, waarvan 25% nieuw.
De wijnmaker geeft een bewaaradvies van ruim tien jaar. Twee uurtjes van tevoren de fles openen of karaferen is aanbevolen.

Heerlijk bij stevige gerechten met rood vlees, wild, aards vegetarisch en stoofschotels.

Château de la Dauphine, gelegen in AOC Fronsac, werd gebouwd tussen 1744 en 1750 en draait dus al wat eeuwen mee in de geschiedenis van Bordeaux.
Tegenwoordig is het eigendom van de familie Labrune, eigenaar en oprichter van CEGEDIM, een technologie- en dienstenbedrijf gespecialiseerd in de gezondheidssector.
FRONSAC, AN ANCIENT APPELLATION
The Libourne region. St. Emilion-Pomerol-Fronsac, was one of the early Gallo-Roman areas of wine production in Bordeaux.
The first vineyards - planted in Fronsac - date back more than two thousand years.
